Welcome to The Petal Press

I absolutely fell in love with handmade paper almost ten years ago when my oldest daughter became engaged and was looking for something "extra special" for her invitations and guest book. After researching the web thoroughly, I was totally hooked on the subtle, understated elegance of handmade papers. Soon I was designing invitations for family and friends and The Petal Press was born. Now ten years later I am still wild about handmade papers!

At The Petal Press we offer complete invitation services. We will designs your invitations to your specifications, create them, address them, and even mail them out if you would like!

We feature beautiful one-of-a-kind handmade papers gathered from around the globe. Our signature paper, the lokta paper, is handmade in a village near Kathmandou, Nepal. Bark from the wild lokta bushes is gathered, boiled, screened and formed into sheets of paper which are then dried in the sunshine. The lokta bush will then regenerate to be gathered again the next season. Not only is this paper eco friendly, but more importantly PEOPLE FRIENDLY as this papermaking process is the sole support of these villagers.

We offer all of your paper/printing needs. We design matching guest books, albums, place cards, menus, programs, thank yous ---- the works!!

If you are looking for a totally unique invitation and need some suggestions on what totally represents "YOU"...... or if you already have a fabulous idea but need help bringing it to a reality, we are ready to help! We love embellishing with dried flowers, charms, ribbons......whatever looks unique!

Okay, so I have to confess, I do have my favorites. My absolute LOVE is Bat/Bar Mitzvah, Quinceanera and Sweet 16 invites. (Although I do promise equally outstanding service to all invites!!) Teenagers are so much fun. It was while volunteering as an advisor for teenage girls that I began to have so much fun coming up with crafts and accessory items they would enjoy creating. It was easy to transfer this to Bat Mitzvah invitation designs. So far we have done layered invites with charms, handmade beaded silk flowers and of course tons of ribbon. We are currently working on really fun invitations that have beautiful cloisonne flower hairpins or button hairpins and clips on them (see photos!!) . These hairpins not only make the invite look fabulous, it also holds all of your enclosure cards in place on the back of your invitation. Plus...... your guests can simple remove the hairpin and they have a really fun hair accessory to remember your special day by! We are also working on a few other "detachable" surprises for other invites. They will be showing up shortly!!
